The original St. Anthony's Institution in 1931
St. Anthony's was a home in 1966 for 160 girls who had somehow missed the blessings of ordinary family life. The Home was conducted by the Franciscan Missionaries of Mary, a congregation dedicated to the daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
The Sisters of St. Anthony's also staffed Our Lady of Loreto College, which is located on the premises. Here a Catholic education was offered to over 1,800 students. Special emphasis was given to a Religion Teacher's Course, an intensive two-year course of study, after which the trained catechists receive the archdiocesan Mission-Canonica.

St. Anthony's Home, 1966
Two sisters working under the archdiocesan Confraternity of Christian Doctrine gave full-time service in the teaching of catechism in the public schools, the dispensaries, and other centers.
Medical and social care of the poor also had a privileged place in the Franciscan apostolate. Seven free dispensaries at strategic points served the needs of their respective districts, most of which were in the poorest sections of the city.
Sisters had been going every Saturday to the national penitentiary in Muntinglupa to give spiritual and temporal aid and comfort to 6,000 inmates.
A backward glance fills us with sincere gratitude for the many blessings and loving care that God has showered on these endeavors.
